“…the place to be for our family to spend quality time together”
Wednesday, May 5, 2010
Charlene and I are excited to provide a testimonial for Matthew Sikora’s karate dojo.
“We have 3 boys under 8 years of age and were looking for a great place to support our family exercise activities. We heard excellent reports about World of Martial Arts and chose to enroll in their family program. Matthew Sikora, who runs the school, has been a joy to work with during the enrollment and the classes he so expertly teaches. He is an amazing role model for our children and the kind of human being we want our children to spend time with. Our experience over the past 9 months has been fantastic and vastly exceeded our expectations! While we were looking for a way for the family to exercise together, we are delighted at other benefits our boys and our family are receiving. The philosophies that come with Ashihara karate of discipline, respect, confidence, high self esteem, and self defense rather than aggression, have been fantastic for our boys (even our 3 year old!). Two of our 3 children participate most weekdays in the after school program. The rapid athletic development we have seen with our sons is also astounding. Plus, we as parents have the opportunity of being able to exercise and learn with our children in a great educational and learning atmosphere. As a bonus, Matthew places a strong emphasis on healthy nutrition (their snacks are excellent) and water consumption over juices and pop, which is aligned with our philosophy and critical for our family’s health. The World of Martial Arts is the place to be for our family to spend quality time together, get excellent exercise, and tap this great learning resource for our children!”

“able to get back into my skinny jeans!!!”

I highly recommend Tracy’s cardio kickboxing class to everyone!!!! The amazing thing about Tracy is that it doesn’t matter how long you have been taking her class, she finds new ways to work out every muscle in your body and wear you out every time. I love it because I see real results. One of the things I am most excited about is being able to get back into my skinny jeans!!! I dropped a pant size and my entire body is noticeably firmer. I actually look forward to trying on clothes now. Tracy is also an amazing motivator and I have never enjoyed working out as much as I do when I am in her class.

“I couldn’t ask for a better fitness class!”
I have been doing Tracy ’s cardio kickboxing class since it began in September of 2009. The results have been amazing! My muscle tone has greatly improved, my endurance has skyrocketed, I have more energy throughout the day, and I feel much healthier overall. Tracy ’s attitude in class is extremely motivating and having her as an instructor is very inspirational. I love how I feel after class, the results are fantastic, and I couldn’t ask for a better fitness class!

I started kickboxing with Tracy in October 2009. Over the Past two years I have switched careers. I went from being a stay at home mother of three who worked out five days a week and worked part time as a substitute teacher to office management sitting for 8 hours a day behind a computer screen and one hour a day behind the steering wheel. This inactivity led to an almost 30 pound weight gain and a big fat low self esteem.
By September I knew that something had to give. Around this time I heard that my son’s Dojo was considering a kickboxing class. I joined knowing that it would be difficult to leave my family two nights a week but I knew that at the rate I was going I would be approaching 200 pounds in no time.
The very first night of class I showed up gung ho and ready to get started. 40 minutes in I found myself in the parking lot throwing up everything I had eaten that week! Despite my humiliation I decided not to give up and came back to class the very next Thursday. I slowed it way down and made it through without getting sick. The next Tuesday I found myself throwing up in the parking lot again! That is when I knew that I had two choices. I could quit or I could strive on and not let this thing win. I am so glad that after I wiped the tears away I made the decision to believe in myself and continue with the class.
When I started the class I weighed in at 178 pounds and was a size 14 pants (12 if I wanted to look like a tube of pop n fresh biscuits). This was the heaviest I had ever been, pregnancy excluded. I am proud to say that I am down to 167 pounds. I am now back into a size ten jeans comfortably and have my eyes set on size eight for the summer. But the best part is that I genuinely feel healthier, I have my self esteem back and my stress level has greatly reduced.
I owe it all to Tracy because even though the class is full I feel like Tracy is my own personal trainer. There is no hiding in the back of the class and taking it easy. She pushes us to push ourselves. As we get stronger, the class gets harder and she expects more from us. She knows when we are giving our own personal best and when we need to be told to not give up. I am really excited about the 90 days to a better you program she started and am looking forward to losing the 17 pounds I have left. Thank you Tracy for everything you have done for me. I really do appreciate your belief in me and your passion for physical wellness.

Hello all, it is a pleasure as well as a excitement to be in the program. I enjoy the World of Martial Arts and see that it is improving myself as well as others, Kancho Maczuga and Tracy Maczuga along with Master Hong and Master Williams, and fellow training instructors Coloumbe, Martinez, Wright, Sanchez, Forrest and Wesley, and let me not forget the parents who are around offer me advise. I see that the potential is amazing, and I have saw continuous improvement in both social, physical, mental, moral and life fitness. My ability to undertake tasks is proving challenging, but with mentors already mentioned myself and those within the program will succeed. I also find being around the students has helped me get past my own boundaries and react in situations quickly. The positivity is there, and I like seeing the program continue, its wonderful being in an environment where others are having fun and enjoying the same thing you do, for this I am grateful.
Thank you everyone!
